Local history organization Waynesboro At War has announced the formation of a vintage base ball team and is seeking players.
The South River Strikers will play matches patterned after the early rules for baseball and a game called town ball.
The goal of the Strikers is to help preserve, perpetuate, and promote the history and heritage of base ball as it was played during its formative years.
Strikers are looking for men 18 or older who can commit to Sunday afternoon practices and occasional trips to play matches in other areas.
The Strikers are currently accepting applications for membership.
