Schola Cantorum of Waynesboro is a choral ensemble of approximately 55 singers who are selected by audition and drawn from Waynesboro and surrounding cities and counties. The ensemble's repertory is selected from significant and major works from the Renaissance through the 21st century, including American composers and ethnic-inspired compositions. About the film: The powerful story of Jackie Robinson, the legendary baseball player who broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier when he joined the roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers. 42 stars Harrison Ford as the innovative Brooklyn Dodgers’ General Manager Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who first signed Robinson to the minors and then helped to bring him up to the show, and Chadwick Boseman as Robinson, the heroic African-American who was the first man to break the color line in the big leagues. Together, they helped changed the game and the nation.
The screenings will be followed by a panel discussion which explores finding faith in film.
The Faith in Film series is sponsored in part by First Baptist Church in Waynesboro.
