    Do you love bargains? Come by the library for an indoor/outdoor twofer: a community yard sale combined with a Friends of the Library 50¢ book sale and raffle. You can even sell your items at the yard sale for just $15 for a 10’ x 10’ booth (tables available for an added fee)—register in advance for your booth at the circulation desk.

    This FREE annual event takes place river-side at Constitution Park in Waynesboro, VA. Activities include Reptile World shows, Stream Safari, a presentation by the Wildlife Center of Virginia, Fish and Fun Rodeo, canoe rides, kids arts & crafts, a fish presentation with the Department of Game & Inland Fisheries and is capped off by the Great South River Duck Race! Rain or Shine – No Pets Allowed Riverfest reaches more than 2,000 children and adults and emphasizes our commitment and responsibility to the conservation of our natural resources.     Swannanoa is an Italian Renaissance Revival villa built in 1912 by millionaire and philanthropist James H. Dooley (1841–1922) above Rockfish Gap on the border of northern Nelson County and Augusta County, Virginia and sits high atop the Blue Ridge Mountains at Afton. The palace is open for touring on the weekend, and small group tours may be arranged at other times.
